Tips for First Time Voters

Tips for First Time Voters

Make Sure you are Registered to Vote

You can check with the Secretary of State to confirm your Voter Registration status

What to Bring With You

If you are voting for the first time you may need a photo ID. (http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/voting-california/what-bring/)

Confirm your Polling Place and Hours of Operation

You can check where you are scheduled to vote and when they will be open on November 8. California polls will be open 7am-8pm.

Who Is Running? What are Propositions and Measures?

Use your sample ballot and Voter Guides to review what you are being asked to vote on. You can bring that with you to the polling place so take notes and be prepared. Use resources like this guide to research the pros and cons of each candidate or proposition.

Note: You don't have to vote on each and every thing. Use your vote to make a difference on those things you want to influence.

HAVE FUN! Grab an I Voted sticker.
