Developing an Approach for Your Research

An historiography is an examination of the way historians develop a history--the methods, the perspectives they apply, the choices they make about what to include, what to exclude, and what to emphasize.

What follows is an approach to  comparing differering perspectives or "lenses" of historians on a single topic:

1. Identify an area of focus
