This is the time to check your registration. In order to receive your ballot by mail for the November election you need to register and verify your registration!

All registered CA voters will receive their ballot by mail by October 5, 2020.

You can check with the Secretary of State to confirm your Voter Registration status

What to Bring With You

If you are voting for the first time you may need a photo ID. (http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/voting-california/what-bring/)

Confirm your Polling Place and Hours of Operation

You can check where you are scheduled to vote and when they will be open on November 6. California polls will be open 7am-8pm.

Who Is Running? What are Propositions and Measures?

Use your sample ballot and Voter Guides to review what you are being asked to vote on. You can bring that with you to the polling place so take notes and be prepared. Use resources like this guide to research the pros and cons of each candidate or proposition.

Note: You don't have to vote on each and every thing. Use your vote to make a difference on those things you want to influence.

Voter Registration 2020 Election

Your New Voting Experience is Here! 

Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters is modernizing voting and providing voters with greater flexibility and convenience.

​What's changing?​

Starting with the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election:

  1. Every registered voter will receive a Vote By Mail ballot starting 29 days before Election Day
  2. Voters can vote at any of the Vote Centers in Santa Clara County
  3. Approximately 100  Vote Centers will be open for 4 days, including Election Day.
  4. Vote Centers will offer more space, additional services and new enhanced voting equipment​
